The Joy of Christmas 25-pack Adapted from John Piper's book The Dawning of Indestructible Joy, "The Joy of Christmas" tells the story of Jesus coming to inaugurate lasting peace on earth. Partial Text Some of the most familiar and happy words of Christmas are these: For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord. And this will be a sign for you: you will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger. And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying, Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased! (Luke 2:1114) My great desire for you this Christmas is that you enjoy this peace. We know that there are global aspects to this peace that lie in the future when the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea (Habakkuk 2:14). When, as Isaiah says, Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end (Isaiah 9:7). But Jesus has come to inaugurate that peace among Gods people and to unveil the true joy of Christmas. There are three relationships in which he wants you to pursue and enjoy this peace.
