Singer-songwriter-author-filmmaker and 2019 Dove Award-nominated Andrew Peterson releases Behold the Lamb of God: The True Tall Tale of the Coming of Christ Oct. 25, a completely re-recorded version of his acclaimed, bestselling Christmas album released in 2004. Reuniting many of the original cast of musicians that recorded the first album, including Andy Gullahorn, Andrew Osenga, Jill Phillips, Gabe Scott and Ben Shive, Peterson and team re-crafted the original albums twelve songs, including fan favorites such as Labor of Love, Matthews Begats and Deliver Us. That recording session was one of the best experiences in my life, says Peterson. I walked into the room with about twenty old friends, and we recorded all of the songs in two days. To get all of the energy of the players together in one place, people I have years and years of history with, was a joy. Ive never experienced anything like it. The new album also celebrates the 20th anniversary of Petersons Behold the Lamb of God annual Christmas tour that has become a cherished holiday tradition for churches and families who pack venues coast-to-coast each year. Known for its unique telling of the Christmas story through songs revealing the birth of Christ as it is foreshadowed and prophesied in the Old Testament and brought to bear in the New, the tour has also hosted a variety of special guests throughout the years, ranging from Allison Krauss, to Jon Foreman, Steven Curtis Chapman, and many more. This years tour, sponsored by Compassion International and The Rabbit Room, will feature special guest Jess Ray plus its classic lineup of all-star artists and musicians traversing the nation into 13 cities, including back-to-back nights at Nashvilles historic Ryman Auditorium. Whatever the rest of the year looks like, Peterson says, we come back together on the road and sing these same songs again. Its created this unintentional liturgy of our lives for two decades, and it recenters me again and again on what got me into this in the first placewhich is that God loves us so much that he put on flesh and dwelt among us. ABOUT ANDREW PETERSON Andrew Peterson is a man of many talents with a successful recording and songwriting career, as well as being the award-winning author of The Wingfeather Saga and the host of a highly popular online creative community called the Rabbit Room (www.RabbitRoom.com).
